From a young age, he developed a love for design and craftsmanship, whether in architecture, fashion, luxury cars, or other timeless creations. But it was during his teenage years that his fascination expanded to the maritime world, where he noticed something missing. Despite the artistry in many industries, he felt yachts lacked the same level of innovation and beauty.

Koen’s curiosity and desire to create something different led him to explore yacht design and engineering. Over the years, he worked on designing yachts for others, but he continued to work on a truly unique yacht design of his own. One that perfectly combined luxury, performance, practicality, and personal style. He wanted to create a yacht that wasn’t just a boat, but a reflection of its owner, tailored to fit their lifestyle and taste.

This vision of creating something new and daring led Koen to take a bold leap and focus solely on bringing Sandes to life.
